My name is Paul and my wife, and I were separated and I was going through a rough patch as I called it.

My wife had asked me to please seek out counseling to help me work through whatever it was I was dealing with. I was used to my parents going through times of separation that led my dad to leave for periods of time. And now I was doing the same thing to my wife and kids whenever I got frustrated or tired of how things were going at home.

A friend of mine told me about Dawn at Living Beautifully Broken and how she had helped him. He suggested I reach out to her.

I didn't want my kids to feel the same way I did and struggle or my wife to feel as if she was all alone. Because Dawn taught me that I needed to learn how to be fully present. I didn't know how to be fully present! As Dawn took time with me and listened to me, she showed me how to learn to stop and listen to my family, to talk things out instead of up and leaving.

It took time and Dawn didn't make me feel insignificant or belittled. She listened to me, heard me and encouraged me through all my different thoughts and emotions.
